Service

Exterior Painting

The North-West weather is unforgiving — driven rain, salt air on the coast, sharp frosts inland. Our exterior painting service is built to withstand it. We specialise in render coatings, masonry paint, soffits and fascias, timber windows, doors and gates throughout Cumbria and Lancashire.

Exterior repaint — Lancaster

Render and masonry coatings

We use breathable masonry paints and silicone-based render coatings appropriate for the building. Cracks are raked out and filled, loose render is hacked off and reinstated, and surfaces are sealed with a penetrating stabiliser before topcoats are applied.

Timber windows, doors, soffits and fascias

Existing paint is scraped and sanded back to a sound substrate. Bare timber is primed, joints are sealed, and two coats of premium exterior topcoat are applied — typically Dulux Weathershield, Sadolin or Sikkens depending on the look you want.

Cumbrian and Lancashire weather built-in

We plan exterior work around the forecast — paint applied in the wrong conditions fails. We monitor dew points and surface temperatures, and we'll never rush a job just to hit a deadline.

Frequently asked

Questions about exterior painting

What time of year can exterior painting be done?+

We work outdoors from roughly March to October in Cumbria and Lancashire, depending on the weather. We need dry surfaces, temperatures above 8°C and no rain forecast for at least 24 hours after application.

How long will an exterior repaint last?+

A properly prepared exterior repaint using premium materials should last 8–12 years on render and 5–8 years on south-facing timber, depending on exposure.

Do you do scaffolding?+

We arrange scaffolding or access towers as part of the quote where the job needs it. You won't have to coordinate it separately.
